DAHL 1 for a STORY…

by Leigh Lundin

I have a rotten cold today. I detest colds and don’t want you to catch one too, so step back from the screen and enjoy Alfred Hitchcock Presents a classic based upon a Roald Dahl story, Lamb to the Slaughter.

Ahhh, LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER, one of my favorite short stories. I never thought Dahl was an exceptionally gifted storyteller (gifted, but not exceptionally gifted, in my book), but this one’s a classic!

Wish you a speedy recovery, Leigh.

    A great episode.

Hope you are feeling better, Leigh!

Dahl could be fun and delightfully weird! Hope you feel better soon, Leigh! Maybe you need to eat something. Let’s see what I have in the freezer…

Another great Hitchcock episode (starring Robert Morley) was “Specialty of the House,” which also involved a mystery about a lamb dish. Anyone out there remember it? I checked and unfortunately it has not made it to UTube.

What a nice way to get through a cold 🙂

    Hope you are better.

Hope you get better soon because the cops in Florida are raiding barbershops and we need someone to give us the full details.

Dear God, I thought that was a joke, Louis!

What’s the deal Leigh? After reading your work for quite a few years i see story changes. You seemed to have lost the edge for the work you once put out. I miss it. Bring it back man, okay?!

Since you put the show in here, indulge me in my favorite bit of trivia:

The guy who gets the chop on the head?

That’s Allan “Rocky” Lane, cowboy star emeritus …
… and the voice of Mister Ed!
(Play it again and listen close.)

Just thought I’d throw that in.

  10. December 16th, 2010 at 11:22 am, Leigh Says:

Hey, everyone. I’ve mostly slept the past few days, but the sun melted the ice in my cave door. Only a trace of my cold remains.

    Thanks Dale, Jeff, and alisa.

I see Josh and Louis collaborated to bring on another Florida weirdness story. Yep, felonious barbershops, a problem since the days of Delilah, alleged to scalp and fleece, where customers escape only by a hair. Thank you, Louis and Yoshinori.

“Chop on the head“… (laughing) Mike, I’d never have guessed Mr. Ed.

Uh-oh, Thad. I need to get my groove back. Suggestions are welcome.
